On 21st May we presented at a webinar hosted by the The Project for Advancement of Sustainable Symbiotic Society (3S Project) to discuss the link between tourism and sustainable development. While awareness of the topic of sustainable tourism may be gradually increasing in Japan, what that actually means is still not widely understood.

We were honoured to have participants from a wide range of sectors, including government agencies such as Japan Tourism Agency (JTA), private businesses, municipal governments and students joining our interactive and informative webinar. We discussed:

- What sustainable tourism is

- Why it is becoming a hot topic

- How partnerships can help “build back better”

- And what we as travelers, as an industry and a community can do to accelerate sustainable tourism.

5月21日に開催された「持続可能な共生社会の発展プロジェクト(3Sプロジェクト)」主催のウェビナーにて、「サステナブルツーリズム x SDGs」をテーマに、お話しさせていただきました。日本でやっと少しずつ注目が始まってきたサステナブルツーリズムですが、それが実際にどんなものであるのかはあまり広くは知られていないのが現状です。

ウェビナー 当日は観光庁などの政府機関、民間企業、自治体、学生の方々を含め幅広い業界からご参加いただき、貴重な交流の機会にすることができました。

ウェビナーでは、

● サステナブルツーリズムとは何か

● なぜ今サステナブルツーリズムが注目されているのか

● SDGsを達成するためのパートナーシップの重要性

● 旅行者、旅行業界、地域コミュニティとして何ができるか

についてお話しし、質疑応答を交えながら議論を深めました。
